LSST Member Registration

LIneA provides a set of services and platforms that support the scientific activities of members of the LSST (Legacy Survey of Space and Time) collaboration. These resources include analysis environments, specialized tools, and access to embargoed data.

To ensure security and proper access authorization, only users who are officially part of the LSST collaboration are allowed to use these resources.

Mandatory prerequisites

Before starting the registration process, make sure you meet the following requirements:

  • Be included in the LSST Data Rights Holders (DRHs) list
  • Have an active account on the Rubin Science Platform (RSP)

The access process follows this sequence:

  1. Inclusion in the DRHs list (Rubin/LSST)
  2. Creation of an RSP account
  3. Registration on LIneA/IDAC-BR

Important: Separate Environments

  • LIneA and RSP are independent environments, managed by different teams and hosted on distinct infrastructures
  • LIneA does not have the authority to create, manage, or recover RSP accounts
  • Access to RSP does not automatically grant access to LIneA resources

If you do not meet the prerequisites, you will not be able to complete the LIneA/IDAC-BR registration.

If you:

  • Are not included in the DRHs list, or
  • Do not have an active RSP account

👉 The LIneA registration process cannot be completed.

Create an account on the Rubin Science Platform (RSP)

Before requesting access to the RSP, make sure that your name is included in the LSST Data Rights Holders (DRHs) list.

If you are not yet included in the DRHs list, do not proceed with the RSP registration at this time. You must first be included in the official Rubin/LSST DRHs list.

For users affiliated with Brazilian institutions, the Program Manager is Julia Gschwend.

I am already on the DRHs list and need to create an RSP account

To create an RSP account, access: https://rsp.lsst.io/index.html

Users already registered with LIneA as general public users must also complete all steps described on this page.

Registration on LIneA/IDAC-BR

This procedure should only be performed after you meet the following requirements:

  • Be included in the DRHs list
  • Have an active RSP account
I already have an active RSP account and need to create a LIneA/IDAC-BR account

1. Access: https://scienceplatform.linea.org.br/lsp

2. Click on "Sign In" (top-right corner of the page)

3. Click on "LSST MEMBERS (RSP ACCOUNT)"

4. On the CILogon page, select your institution in the "Select an Identity Provider" field

5. After this step, the message "Unauthorized Access" will be displayed. Click on "register here"

6. Fill out and submit the registration form and accept the terms
